Selling produce is not just a business at Southside Produce Market, it’s a family tradition. It is a tradition that dates back to the 1930s when Andy’s grandfather, Jake Pizzolato, started the first fruit stand in Baton Rouge. Since then, Andy has expanded the family business into Southside Produce.
Southside Produce was started in 1987 in Denham Springs. After Andy’s father, Harry, sold Fruitland in 1992, he joined forces with Andy to open the current location of Southside Produce on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge.
